hello seniors, and children:)
I'm sure we had a great time on the 1st of feb. I thank those who turned up be it late or early( better late than never ), and for some that did not come, thanks for texting in. i thank you for being responsible, and that your came willingly, knowing that it's our one and only rehearsal at the Singapore Conference Hall.
Definitely, before, during and after the journey, i am sure we had bonded with one another, be it minor or alot. Lastly, CO thank those guys who came and help out!
As for the upcoming SYF, i've always wanted to share this with all of your, since last year, when we were supposed to have a meeting, but later it got cancelled, and i doubt there is any spare time that your will be able to make it down after school, to hear me nag, so i sincerely hope that your will read this with understanding alright?
For a ensemble, a band, or an orchestra to work out, there has to be 3 critireas; vision, commitment, and action.
firstly, there are 3 types of people. one- who make things happen. two- who watch things happen. three- who don't know what is happening. Therefore, i hope all of you will be type number 1(al least give it a try:D)
secondly, learn to create, not to complain.
we can help you to improve, but we cannot change you, only you can change yourself.
the best way to solve a problem is? just solve it.
and, failure is success's mummy.
Thirdly, it is not what you play, it is why you play.
so our targets and questions for yourself are:
1. not simply awards only
2. but working together as a team.
3. your personal character development.
4. how much have you grow as a student?
5. what did the rehearsal show you?
Lastly, in order to be successful;
we have to do/be all this;
1. entertaintment(sway, and move when you need:D)
2. appreciation(for your teachers, your leaders, and the music)
3. commitment
4. bonding(we'll be there for each other!)
5. persevereance(don't give up so easily, as long as you try)
6. discipline(don't be late, and please turn up!)
7. cooperation(we have to cooperate in order to succeed alright?)
8. resilience
9. endurance(learn to give in and give way(: )
10. determination
11.confidence(have confidence in yourself, when you play wrongly, it's alright, everyone makes mistakes right?)
12. attitude(have the right attitude, respect is important)
13. understanding our songs(understand what is required, why is it special? how to interpret the song?)
14. feelings/emotions(sway with the song, and be strong!)
okay, i'm done. i hope your have read it, and apply it as well! we can do it alright!
To all secondary one juniors,
CO welcomes you with open hands! don't be shy, and speak up alright, but at the same time, be humble and respect your seniors!
